For a seller coupon, every qualifying item in the basket must come from the seller that issued it.
Under standard eBay.ie seller coupon terms, postage, packing and taxes charged separately do not count towards a minimum spend or receive the discount. If a code requires €50 and your item costs €45 plus €7 delivery, the qualifying total is €45. The code will not apply, and you will pay €52 unless you add another eligible item. Campaigns issued by eBay can set different conditions.
Pro tip: If an eligible card still produces the payment method message, save the card to your eBay profile and restart checkout. This may let eBay recognise the required payment setup.
Why does my eBay code work on one item but not another?
Codes only cover the listings or other defined items included in the offer. Another listing is not necessarily eligible just because it has the same seller or a similar product.
Standard seller coupons on eBay.ie exclude Cars, motorcycles and vehicles and Coins, banknotes and bullion. An offer may exclude additional categories or limit the code to items shown on its promotion page.
Pro tip: Check the eligible items before you commit to buy or place a bid, as the code may not apply after you become obliged to pay.
Can I use one eBay seller code on items from different sellers?
No. A standard seller coupon applies only to qualifying items from the seller that issued it, and you must redeem it in one transaction.
A campaign issued by eBay can cover listings from multiple participating sellers when its promotion page or terms identify them as eligible. An unrelated seller's item will not count towards the minimum.
Pro tip: Put qualifying products from the coupon seller in one basket checkout so their item prices count together towards any minimum spend.
Can I use an eBay promo code on an already reduced item or with a Best Offer?
Usually not. Standard seller coupons cannot combine with another coupon, site discount, rebate, offer, gift coupon or promotion. Campaigns issued by eBay can also exclude other vouchers and sales promotions.
If checkout shows This code can't be applied to your order., an existing sale or accepted offer may be blocking the code. For example, if an accepted Best Offer saves €15 but the code would save €10, keeping the accepted offer gives you the lower supported price.
What happens if my eBay code is worth more than my item?
You lose the unused portion of a fixed-value seller coupon. eBay does not pay the difference in cash or carry it into another purchase.
Percentage codes can also have a maximum saving. For example, a 10% code with a €50 maximum discount takes €50 off a qualifying €600 item, reducing its price to €550 before any separate delivery charge.
Use a fixed-value coupon on an eligible order that uses as much of its value as practical.
Will eBay give my promo code back if I cancel or return the order?
No under standard seller coupon terms. A refund excludes the coupon value, so eBay refunds no more than the amount you paid and does not issue a replacement coupon.
Campaign terms issued by eBay may also state that cancelling the purchase makes the coupon expire and prevents reuse.
Where can I find eBay Ireland promo codes?
Start with eBay codes verified by DontPayFull, then check qualifying item pages, seller offer pages and eBay's dedicated promotion pages. Sellers may also publish codes through Shop newsletters, social media and other marketing channels.
Promotional messages from eBay can contain account specific offers, so view them while signed into the account that received them and confirm the eligible item, seller, eBay site, minimum spend and expiry.
Pro tip: Save sellers whose products you buy regularly and opt into their Shop communications where available to see seller coupons without relying only on checkout banners.
