Why does Uber Eats say "Oops, this promotion could not be claimed"?
First, check whether the offer is limited to a particular country, city, restaurant, account or first order. For an offer sent by email, use the Uber Eats account with the same email address.
If the conditions match but the Uber Eats app still shows "Oops, this promotion could not be claimed", try claiming it through the regular Uber app under Account and Uber Eats promotions. You can also try signing in through the Uber Eats website.
Pro tip: Return to Promotions after claiming the offer and confirm that it appears as active before building your order.
Why does Uber Eats say "promotion not applied to the order" at checkout?
The code may be attached to your account but ineligible for that order. Check for:
- The required country, city and currency
- Participating restaurants or shops
- A minimum menu item spend
- Delivery or pickup restrictions
- First order or targeted account eligibility
- An expiry time
- Restricted products
- A required payment method
- Another offer that blocks the code
Only order if the promotion appears in the final checkout breakdown. Uber Eats will not add the discount afterwards.
Can I use an Uber Eats promo code with a restaurant offer or reduced item?
Sometimes. Uber Eats generally applies a restaurant promotion first and then an eligible account promotion, but you can use only one promo code per order. Some Irish codes cannot be combined with any other offer or exclude promotional items from the required menu item spend.
For example, if a code requires €20 of menu items and excludes promotional items, a €22 basket with a €5 promotional item has only €17 of qualifying spend. You would need another €3 of qualifying menu items for the code to apply.
Can I choose which Uber Eats promo code applies to my order?
Yes. Uber Eats normally selects the highest-value eligible account promotion after any merchant promotion, but you can open the promotion details at checkout and select another code. You can also choose no account promotion and save your codes for later.
Check expiry dates and order limits before switching. A code may cover only one order or a stated number of orders, and unused value from one redemption does not carry over.
Pro tip: Save a larger fixed-value code for a basket that uses all of it because Uber Eats will not transfer the unused balance to your next order.
Who is eligible to use an Uber Eats promo code in Ireland?
Eligibility depends on the individual offer. Common eligible groups and conditions include:
- First-time Uber Eats users
- Accounts that received the offer by email or app notification
- Users ordering in the Republic of Ireland or another named area
- Orders from participating restaurants
- Users paying with a named partner card
- A limited number of people who claim or redeem the offer first
For an emailed code, the email address on your Uber Eats account must match the address that received it. A code for Uber rides will not work on an Uber Eats delivery or pickup order.
Why is my Uber Eats total higher than the promo code suggests?
A code may reduce eligible menu items without removing the delivery fee, service fee or other charges. Some Irish offers also calculate the service fee from the order total before the promotion.
For example, a code that takes €15 off €20 of qualifying food can reduce those menu items to €5. You would then pay €5 plus every delivery, service or other fee shown at checkout.
Can Uber Eats add my promo code after I place the order?
No. You must apply the code before placing the order, and Uber Eats will not add it afterwards if it was missing from checkout.
To check a completed order, open Account, select Orders, choose Past Orders, then open View receipt. An applied promotion appears below the subtotal.
